Hazelwood students make it to Final of Bury’s Got Talent

It was a highly successful night at the Heats for six Hazelwood dancers who won a place in the 2019 Bury’s Got Talent Final
At the Heats, Hazelwood Dance Studios presented “We Will Rock You” a Queen-inspired tap quintet, performed by Mark Austin, Lydia Deacon, Betsy Matten, Mya Simpson and Grace Valentine. The dancers range in age from 14-17 years old and are currently working towards taking their ISTD Intermediate tap exam. Teacher and choreographer Abigail Waite FISTD created the piece by amalgamating newer American tap styles with traditional English steps.
Also appearing as finalists will be Grace Valentine who choreographed and performed a tap dance solo and Ruby Decent who entered the competition as a singer and played keyboard.
