Ballet into Contemporary Summer Workshops
July 13, 2018
Two exciting new Summer workshops with Guest Teacher Alice Laidler.
Monday 30 July: 10.00-12.00 – Grade 3 & 4
Tuesday 31 July: 10.00-12.00 – Grade 5 – Advanced 1
About the workshop:
In a fun and safe environment, pupils will be given the opportunity to explore a variety of contemporary techniques, including floorwork, falling and partner work. Using ballet technique as a guide, we will start with a contemporary ballet class and work on phrases and repertoire to refine our skills.
Guest Teacher: Alice Laidler:
Alice Laidler attended Hazelwood Dance Studios for 10 years before moving to London to train at Central School of Ballet. Since graduating, she has worked with Pheonix Dance Theatre, Leeds and, most recently, physical theatre company C-12 Dance Theatre. She currently continues her freelance contemporary dance and choreography career in London. Her work has spanned theatre, opera, film and music videos and has allowed her to travel to New York and Tel Aviv to learn more about contemporary dance. This has heavily influenced her training and teaching. Alice also choreographs her own work for platforms and music videos across London.
